Technology will be a huge part of our future, according to teens and 20-somethings polled by the Pew Research Center; but youth are still undecided whether that’ll be a good or bad thing. According to the survey, 55 percent of youth believe the people in 2020 will be mostly good—a future loaded with connectivity and easy-to-access answers to everything; 42 percent believe such a future will be a world filled with easily distracted folks who lack the ability to think deeply about much of anything. “There is this tension going on between the positive and the negative [aspects] that we foresee,” says Janna Anderson, an author of the study and associate professor at Elon University. “Right now, a lot of people are responding, ‘That’s already my life.’ They are anticipating this.” (Reuters)
