A 16-year-old pregnant girl won a legal battle against her own parents and will be able to give birth to her baby. The girl took her parents to court, claiming they were forcing her into having an abortion, using (according to the suit) “verbal and physical threats and harassment.” Under the terms of the suit, the parents now must pay for half the hospital bill (unless the girl marries the 16-year-old father), and she will be able to use her car to go to school, work and doctor’s appointments. The parents had, among other things, threatened to take away the car unless she agreed to an abortion. (ABC News)
