In a survey, she found that 87 percent of Millennials between the ages of 18 and 34 agree with the statement, “My smartphone never leaves my side, night or day.” A further 80 percent say the first thing they do in the morning is “reach for my smartphone.”
Meeker’s study also examined teens and found that most of them use their smartphones primarily for social networking. Instagram, Snapchat and Pinterest all saw usage rise among 16-year-olds, while Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and LinkedIn all dropped a bit. Facebook also saw a decline: 74 percent of teens reported using the network compared to 80 percent last year. That still makes it the most popular social network. Oh, and 44 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds say they use their smartphone’s camera at least once a day. (Time)
