A California Girl Scout is organizing a boycott of the organization’s popular cookies—retaliation, it would seem, for a Colorado chapter allowing a 7-year-old transgender boy to join. “Right now, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A…is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public,” says the 14-year-old Scout, known only as Taylor on a YouTube video. “Girl Scouts describes itself as an all-girl experience. With that label, families trust that the girls will be in an environment that is not only nurturing and sensitive to girls’ needs, but also safe for girls.” The boycott is being abetted by an organization called Honest Girl Scouts, which says it’s trying to get the Girl Scouts to return to traditional values. Honest Girl Scouts is also concerned that the organization is dabbling in sex education and is too chummy with Planned Parenthood.  Michelle Tompkins, a spokeswoman for the Girl Scouts, says the organization “prided itself on being an inclusive organization serving girls from all walks of life.” (Washington Post)
