Google’s self-driving cars have generated a great deal of buzz, and many people believe they represent the future of transportation. However, not everyone who has seen them in action is all that impressed. A motorcyclist who claims to see, and drive alongside, several of these self-driven cars in Mountain View, Calif., says he sometimes gets impatient with the vehicle’s strict law-abiding software.
“Google cars drive like your grandma,” he wrote on the “Emerging Technologies Blog.” “They’re never the first off the line at a stop light, they don’t accelerate quickly, they don’t speed, and they never take any chances with lane changes (cut people off, etc.).” (Time)
