Youth Culture Update: The Simpsons Goes Live

“The Simpsons,” Fox’s long-running prime-time cartoon, will try to pull off a first in the world of televised animation this May: a live show. Apparently the episode will feature Homer Simpson—voiced by Dan Castellaneta—riffing on the day’s events. While Simpsons’ Executive Producer Al Jean says Castellaneta is “a great improviser,” writers also will be writing during the show to feed him jokes, similar to an awards show. The program will use motion-capture technology to turn Castellaneta into Homer. (The Wrap)
