With recreational marijuana use now legal in Colorado and Washington, lawmakers and organizations in those states have been trying to figure out how to deal with the new industry. The latest example: The Girl Scouts of Colorado have decided its members can’t sell cookies outside pot stores, although given users’ predilection for the munchies, the Scouts likely would do a thriving business there.
“Girl Scouts of Colorado doesn’t allow girls to sell cookies outside of any adult-oriented business, whether that is a bar, strip club, casino, liquor store or marijuana dispensary,” the organization said in a statement. “We recognize these are legitimate businesses, but we don’t feel they are an appropriate place for girls to be selling cookies in Colorado.” (Fox News)
