Doctors say that teens who suffer concussions should stay well away from homework. Really.

According to new research, exerting your brain too much after a concussion can slow the healing process. Allowing your noggin to rest a bit actually can help brain injuries heal five times faster.

That means doctors advise concussed teens to be excused from homework and (perhaps even better) tests.

Here’s the downside: Because any sort of taxing brain activity can slow healing, teens can’t play video games or text either. We knew there had to be a catch. (Los Angeles Times)
