Call it a case of having your pancake and eating it, too. In late May, seven teenage boys filed into a California Denny’s restaurant and each ordered the $5, all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. Twenty-four hours and 301 pancakes later, they finally left—much to Denny’s infinite satisfaction. The teens consumed an average of 43 pancakes each, for a total of about 14,000 calories apiece (not counting syrup, I’m guessing). The Denny’s in question actually ran out of pancake batter during the day-long feast, so employees had to run out and buy some more. Word has it that the Guinness Book of World Records may create a new category in honor of the feat. If so, Denny’s presumably hopes the record will last a long, long time…or the next record-beaters will decide to attempt this elsewhere. (OC Weekly)
