The Pew Research Center recently asked parents with kids under the age of 18 what they worry about most regarding their children. Bullies are the biggest concern, which impacts six out of every 10 parents. More than half of parents—54 percent—fret that their children might suffer from depression or anxiety, while half worry their kids might be kidnapped.
Worries differ widely depending on the parents’ race and socio-economic status. Researchers found that black parents are more worried than white parents that their child might get shot. White parents worry more about anxiety and depression. Poorer parents are more likely to fret that their kids might get in trouble with the law. Hispanic parents worry more about everything across the board. (Pew Research Center)
