There are about 30 million ecigarette users across Europe, according to study, with the majority between the ages of 15 and 24. The study, published in the journal Tobacco Control, and previous research has found that ecigarettes are particularly attractive to youth and regular smokers who are trying to shake the habit.

“These new findings show that millions—including many young people and smokers trying to quit—are trying ecigarettes, which underscores the importance of assessing their potential harm or benefits,” writes Constantine Vardavas, a senior research scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health.
