Martin Scorsese’s new film, The Wolf of Wall Street, has its eye on an Academy Award or two this year, but it’s already earned an honor of a more dubious nature: It’s unofficially the most profane movie of all time.

The f-word was uttered 506 times, according to Variety, breaking the old (and unofficial) record for using that particular profanity set by 1999’s The Summer of Sam. It’s also one of the most sexually explicit films to earn an R-rating.

“This film may be misunderstood by some,” says its star Leonardo DiCaprio. “I hope people understand we’re not condoning this behavior, we’re indicting it.” (New York Daily News)
